Pochi giorni fa è ufficialmente finito il G7, uno dei meeting più importanti nell’ambito della politica che “conta”. Finito il G7 ora è la volta del Gruppo Bilderberg (dal 2 al 4 giugno 2017), il meno conosciuto e più esclusivo meeting che riunisce alcune delle più influenti ed importanti personalità del mondo dell’economia, della politica e dell’alta finanza internazionale.

Ogni anno 130 invitati occupano per qualche giorno un intero albergo. Si tratta di una vera e propria cupola potentissima composta da banchieri, manager, politici, militari e giornalisti che discuteranno su come perseverare il sistema neoliberista. Un sistema tanto per capirci che permette a 8 persone di possedere una ricchezza pari a 426 miliardi di dollari, una somma equivalente a quella che hanno 3,6 miliardi di persone. Stiamo parlando del gotha della plutocrazia mondiale.

Le riunioni del Bilderberg avvengono quasi sempre in Europa, l’edizione del 2017 invece si è svolta negli USA e più specificatamente a Chatilly, in Virginia. La sede scelta è il Westfields Marriot, un hotel extralusso, già chiuso e blindato da mercoledì scorso, e dove un gruppo di giardinieri hanno per l’occasione piantato moltissimi abeti per proteggere da occhi indiscreti la privacy dei poveri invitati… Da anni l'assoluta segretezza che contraddistingue gli incontri dell'esclusivo club ha contribuito non poco ad alimentare la fama di mistero che aleggia sull'organizzazione.

La sessione si concluderà oggi 4 giugno 2017.

All'ordine del giorno ci sono la Russia di Vladimir Putin e l’ordine internazionale, l’amministrazione di Donald Trump, la guerra dell’informazione, la Cina, la difesa dell'alleanza transatlantica, la direzione dell’Unione Europea e la crescita dei movimenti populisti. Trump è chiaramente sgradito al Bilderberg e probabilmente si sarà discusso di come giustificare il suo impeachment. Un indizio a tal riguardo potrebbe essere proprio la location lontana non più di una trentina di chilometri dalla Casa Bianca. Non ci sarà per ovvi motivi David Rockefeller, visto che ha lasciato il corpo fisico quest’anno, e neppure l’attuale presidente Usa, ma al suo posto sono stati invitati l’attuale consigliere per la sicurezza nazionale, il generale H.R. McMaster, il ministro per il Commercio Usa, Wilbur Ross e il miliardario Peter Thiel, franco sostenitore di The Donald. La presenza fissa del Club è Henry Kissinger che non è mancato nemmeno quest’anno. Poi si è vista la presenza del leader del partito spagnolo emergente Ciudadanos, Albert Rivera, e dei membri di istituzioni internazionali come Christine Lagarde, direttrice del Fmi, nonché i big dell’universo economico come il Ceo di Ryanar, Michael O’Leary o il presidente esecutivo di Alphabet, Eric Schmidt. Presente anche in qualità di membro del board Goldman Sachs l’ex presidente della Commissione Ue, José Barroso. Ad ogni modo il think tank tra i suoi 130 invitati annovera anche alcuni italiani. Per la precisione nell’elenco degli invitati risultano esserci: il presidente di Fca, John Elkann; la fisica Fabiola Giannotti, direttrice del Cern; Sandro Gozi, Segretario di stato per gli affari europei, Lilli Gruber da tempo affezionato membro del club, Maurizio Molinaridirettore de La Stampa e Beppe Severgnini del Corriere della Sera. Tutti con l'obbligo di rispettare la più assoluta discrezione. Giornalisti compresi. Come sia possibile professionalmente per un reporter accettare di assistere a un simile evento senza scrivere una riga, resta un mistero…
